About Benjamin Levesque-
Benjamin Levesque is a saxophonist and educator based in his hometown of Windsor, Connecticut. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance from the University of Connecticut and is currently pursuing his Master of Music at the Hartt School of Music.
As a versatile performer, Benjamin has appeared with the UConn Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, UConn Saxophone Quartet, and the Rhombus Saxophone Quartet. He’s passionate about chamber music and contemporary works, and in 2022 performed in the world premiere of Liquid Metal for saxophone quartet by award-winning composer Chris Evan Hass.
A dedicated teacher, Benjamin has worked with students of all ages and levels, from beginners to collegiate musicians. He has coached chamber groups like the Rhombus Quartet and maintains a growing private studio.
Benjamin was the undergraduate winner of the 2022 UConn Concerto Competition, performing André Waignein’s Rhapsody for Alto Saxophone with the UConn Symphony Orchestra. In 2023, he and the UConn Saxophone Quartet were selected to attend the Sinta Quartet Institute, where they studied with the world-renowned Donald Sinta Quartet.
As a strong advocate for new music, Benjamin has commissioned and premiered numerous works for the saxophone, collaborating closely with composers to expand the instrument’s repertoire and explore new artistic directions.

He currently performs as the alto saxophonist of the Hierax Quartet, a nationally recognized ensemble that placed 3rd in the 2025 MTNA National Chamber Music Competition and was a semi-finalist in the Plowman National Chamber Music Competition. Most recently, he won the Hartt School’s Parinov Competition, performing Ingolf Dahl’s Concerto for Alto Saxophone.
Benjamin has studied with Kendra Emery, Dr. Colette Hall, Paul Evoskovich, and Greg Case. He currently studies under Carrie Koffman.
